My love for the ocean started at an early age. Thanks to my mom, a swim teacher (among many other things), I was swimming before I could walk. Living in Pt. Loma, San Diego I spent the summer days of my childhood at the beach playing in the water and eating sandy rolled tacos. My time was spent at the surface of the ocean sailing, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and fishing. To explore further I knew I needed to be under the oceans surface. Eventually I was certified to dive and “…my eyes were opened on the sea.”

I went on to graduate with a B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. While pursuing my degree I also furthered my diving credentials from advanced open water through Dive Master along with a scientific diving certification through the American Academy of Underwater Scientist. Thanks to the excellent program and dive leaders at U.C.S.C. my connection and passion for the marine environment grew. During this time I had the opportunity to document the underwater world through photography; this gave me the perfect outlet to share my growing passion for the ocean with others.

Shortly after graduation I moved to Maui Hawaii, in search of warmer waters and a career in diving. When I received my Instructor certification I started working at Lahaina Divers. My job allowed me to guide dives and teach scuba on a daily basis. I also had the opportunity to develop the Digital Photography program at Lahaina Divers. With my camera always in hand I have the opportunity to create images and capture moments in the constantly changing oceans.
